It's Summer!
Summer, is one of the perfect seasons to read. The sun is shining, I can finally pick up my books and lying in the grass outside, with a coconut cocktail, sunglasses and a big flowery hat. Well, at least, that's what I picture myself doing every summer, but things never go accordings to plans.
What I'll probably do is bring my books everywhere I go and between working, blogging and maintaining a healthy sociable life, I'll get my reading done!
When I think of summer I'm thinking about fluffy, romantic contemporary novel, so be aware this post may contain high level of cheesiness.
Here are some recommendations for you and some other books I'm looking forward to read myself this summer.
THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY
by Jenny Han
This is one of my contemporary favorite series, from the title to the wonderful plot everything screams summer!
Belly loves summer, she love being at her beach house with Susannah and more than anyone with Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her first summer at the beach house - they have been her brother figures, her best friends, her first crushes, and everything in between. But one summer everything changes and their relationships are never gonna be the same again.
You could think that this is gonna be the typical love triangle story, but is much much more, it's about friendship, family and love of course. The story is beautifully portrait and the writing is flawless. Jenny Han is really a master in the romance genre.
You will read one book after the other!
TO ALL THE BOYS I'VE LOVED BEFORE

Jenny Han again, I know, but what can I do I just love her. Her books are perfect for summer!
The story revolves around Lara Jean, who never told to any of her crutches how she felt, but instead wrote each of them a letter, sealed it, and hid it in a box. Those letters were her closure. But one day the box disappear and the letters have been somehow mailed. Her quiet life is going to make a sudden turn.
This book is part of a duology (2# Ps. I still Love You) and I loved this series even more. It's the emblem of cuteness!
The story is relatable and all the characters feel real. The family portrait that come out of this book is one of the best I ever read.
You are gonna eat up this two books.
ME BEFORE YOU & AFTER YOU
by Jojo Moyes
The movie came out this summer and if you haven't already watched it, you must read this book!
Lou Clark might have an extravagant sense of fashion but her life is pretty ordinary. She knows her hometown like her pockets, since she haven't been anywhere else, she knows she likes working in the local tea shop and she knows she might not love her boyfriend.
What lou doesn't know is that she is about to lose her job and what coming with that is something that she could have never imagine.
Will Traynor had been having an exciting and on the edge life, until an accident takes everything away.
Their path will cross and something will start to change.
When I started this book I thought I was going to have a fun delightful read. How wrong I was! This book made me cry, and sob, and weep so much I think they should forbid it from frail human being like me. Not even Dobby death made me cry so much. After finishing this book I was in a comatose state. The character and their emotions, feels so damn real! The writing is spectacular! It a must you should read it for the sake of human feelings.
As my summer read I'll be reading his sequel - After You - I sure that even if it's impossible for it to be on the same standard as the first book, it's going to be a good read.
GONE GIRL
by Gillian Flynn
Here is a bestelling that I've been putting under my pile of books for a while. This summer I'm going to pick up this internationally acclaimed book, so I will be finally able to watch the movie.
On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are been wrapped and reservations are been made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about slope and shape of his wife's head, but passages from Amy's dairy reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media, the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?
The plot intrigues me, I love reading about, lies, speculations and human monstrosity in general. I'm looking forward to it.
WILD
by Cheryl Strayed
Summer is also about traveling and wonder, and what best to representing that than this memoir of real adventure.
This is also one of those bestelling I did put aside and let dust and mold grow over them. I do feel pretty guilty about them, so it's time to do some clean up.
At twenty-two, Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost everything. In the wake of her mother's death, her family scattered and her own marriage was soon destroyed. Four years later, with nothing more to lose, she made the most impulsive decision of her life. with no experience or training, driven only by blind will, she would hike more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail from Mojave Desert through California and Oregon To Washington State - and she would do it alone.
It look like a great adventure to read about, and since I won't be living any this summer I hope I can make her mine.
This are my summer choices, I will include them in all the other book I will be reading.
